Penny Pinching

At some point in our lives, we will all struggle financially. I keep hoping to marry into money and then I won't have to worry about it... but lets be real. Probably not going to happen! Instead, I'll probably have to live off coupons while I put a husband through a graduate program or something. The truth is, it can't hurt to begin teaching myself how to be frugal and money smart.

First things first, its time to read some good books. A couple years ago, I read The Richest Man In Babylon and loved it. I should read that again, followed by Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace-Revisited. May I suggest to friends and family who may also be in need of some education to do the same. In the meantime, if you don't have either of these books accessible to you, just try learning to penny pinch. If you need a little nudge, or simply some suggestions of how to get started, visit this blog Penny Pincher Advice. Best of luck to you all! (And to me)

"Where's Your Husband?"

"Where's your husband, Rachel?" That's what I was asked today by my sweet niece Eliza (below). My response of "I don't have one Eliza" was quickly shot down by her astute observation. "But Sarah has one!"

Sarah and I busted up laughing. Who doesn't adore the honesty of children?

Wish I knew, Eliza. Wish I knew!

That was Wicked!

After 6 months of holding onto my tickets (and thinking I lost them for 3 of the 6) I finally saw Wicked!

Sarah and I had a blast at the musical. Neither of us had seen it before, but we'd heard some of the music. I was pleasantly surprised by the comedy of the show, and also the tenderness. It is a total must see the next time I go to NYC! It was such a great night! Thanks for coming Sarah.
