Memorial Day

When you work full time, 3-day weekends are priceless!

For the long Memorial Day weekend, my roommates and I left the never-ending winter in Salt Lake City and headed to sunny St. George!  The sun couldn't have been more missed than it was this spring so the plan was just to relax and enjoy the warmth.

We got there Friday night and crashed at my roommate's parents' condo.  Saturday morning, I headed to the temple while others either slept in or went to the driving range.  We then spent a few hours at the pool, and a few more hours hiking through Zions National Park.

First stop in Zions: Overlook hike just past the 'tunnel'...which by the way, is absolutely amazing!  I can't believe I never even knew about it before!

Next hike in Zions was the Emerald Pools, followed by the Grotto.

Sunday, we checked out the local Singles Ward, had a nice BBQ, rested and loved our easy afternoon.
It was so nice not feeling rushed to get back for work on Monday.
I LOVE long weekends!

8/12/10 UPDATE: Filled.  Only took me 5 days!

Its time again.  Another roommate is heading on to new pastures, which means I have another room available for rent!

If you hear of anyone needing a place to go, the room will be available Sept 1, and is a month to month contract...

You can send them the link to my craigslist posting below.

Freshies

I thank Channa for posting the amazing pictures from our days at the Events Management Team at BYU. What a wonderful time in my life!

The tag is to post the 6th picture found in the 6th folder. Here is my blast from the past!

These are my fantastic freshman roommates, Alison, Kerry, Katie, me, and Sara. The very first week in our apartment, we were all excited to get to know each other and become friends, so we went to dinner at Macaroni Grill! We laughed so hard that night! Now, all four of them are happily married and living in various states, and some even have their own children! I love them very much.
I tag.... Sara H, Kerry K, Elizabeth O, and Liz D

My Very First Tree

Last year, I purchased an artificial tree from Modern Display, anticipating a short employment and wanting to be sure I got the great employee discount. One year later, I still work at Modern Display. So, still hoping for a change in employment, I decided I would take advantage of my employee discount again and finally buy my ornaments. I'm so glad I did, because I love the way it looks!
[Side note: My roommate decided to go cut down a tree this year, so my tree purchase last year... still in a box, unopened.]

Here are some fun pictures from the lighting and decorating of the real, 12'H tree.

I let Cammie and Connie put the lights on it. I am too much of a perfectionist that I was getting super frustrated on the first branch. They were the right answer!

Okay, this picture is actually from the Modern Tree Tour '08 that some friends from Modern Display and I went on this year. We all drew names for Secret Santa and as we visited each home to see how they decorated the tree, the person who's home it was gave their gift to the special person. It was so much fun!

Need Roommates

My friend Cammie and I found an amazing place to live this week and will finally be moving out! Only catch... we need 2 more roommates to fill the place and keep rent reasonable. Move in would be Oct 1, but we can maybe fib a month if necessary. If you know any girls who want a new place to live with great roommates, fabulous ward, and the perfect singles housing arrangement, have them call me. You probably all have my number, but if not, let me know that you have someone interested and I'll get you my number. Thanks for you help!
