Crazy BYU Students

I found this clip on MSN today.  Laughed hard because I know many people who would do this in Provo.  Then I found out my co-worker saw them at the 4th of July Parade.  Crazy students!

A Stretch for Something New

Wow, this week has been rough!  I've been super busy; and finding something big and new to do has been a little difficult.  I'm stretching some, but I do have new things in my life.  :)  You'll just have to deal with my lack of creativity this week.

Red Mango's new flavor - KEY LIME PIE
Super delicious!  I went with my roommates, Ashley and Sarah, to endulge in the new flavor for a spur-of-the-moment Girls Night.  Surprised by how much I like it.  It really tastes like the pie!

RED ROCK Brewing Co for dinner with Mike.  I'd never eaten there and it'd been since high school for him so it was the perfect choice!
I had the most delicous dinner.  Chinese Beef Salad.  It had beef tenderloins, which were perfectly cooked, topping a salad filled with water chestnuts, wontons, mandarine oranges, red and green pepers, and was tossed in a sesame seed dressing.  It was so good I didn't want to stop when I got full!  Can't wait to go back.

Movie night: THE A-TEAM.
Have you seen it?  It is a definite must-see!  Mike and I laughed so hard during the entire movie!  Who knew it was such a comedy?  The action was great too.  See the trailer below. (If you plan to see it on the big screen, go soon.  I think its almost out of the main theaters.)

So that was my week: 3 new things that were a stretch to classify as new.
But hey, when you get busy, sometimes you just gotta take what you can get!

Downtown Farmer's Market

NEW for this week...

After my morning run today, I headed down to the Farmer's Market downtown at Pioneer Park with my roommates.  The Farmer's Market is held every Saturday morning, 8am-1pm, during the summer.  I've never been before, but am always curious and want to check it out.  So we did!

There is so much fun produce available, jewelry, clothing, music, flowers, and various food products, like honey and hummus.

Everything at the farmer's market is locally grown and I think its all organic.  Today, the cherries were delicious! I couldn't help myself, I had to buy a small bag.

I also tried a sample of Fire Roasted Hummus.  It was surprisingly good!  I've never tasted hummus before.  What???  How is it that I've never eaten it?  Frankly, it looks gross so I just never tried it.  But, this one had so much flavor to it!  I'm sad I didn't purchase any.  I hear its good for you too. Maybe I'll go back next week and find the vendor again so I can buy some.

We walked around for about an hour in the sweltering heat before heading across the street to Bruges Waffles and Frites for delicious liege waffles.  If you haven't been there before, GO.  I've never had a better (and authentic) waffle!  In late August you can get it with peaches and fresh cream, then it tastes like peach cobbler almost! That's when it is my favorite, but its also amazing with strawberries.

It was a great morning!

Paragliding

This morning, AWESOMENESS occurred!

Mike and I went tandem paragliding!  A few weeks ago I saw an incredible deal for it on Salt Lake Groupons and I had to go for it!  It was just too good of a deal to pass.

So, this morning we headed down to the south side of Point of the Mountain to meet our tandem guide from Cloud 9.  He got me all set in the right gear...
...and off I went!

Mike was next to go!
Check out the size of our backpacks!

We both has such a great time this morning!  I would recommend it to anyone.  Totally safe and peaceful, while still very exciting!

Fourth Festivities

The fourth of July was a good one this year.  I didn't take too many pictures, but I sure had fun!

The festivities began Friday night when I went with cousins to the Oakley Rodeo.  It was fun to go with them again... reminded me of old times when our families used to go together!  I always love a good rodeo!
The next day, Mike took me up to the Park City Resort to ride the Alpine Slide and the Alpine Coaster! I've never done these at Park City, but I've done smaller versions elsewhere.  Bigger is definitely more fun!
(I'm standing on a step, up the hill.  Man, he is tall!)
After Park City, we grabbed some food and headed back to Salt Lake to meet up with some of Mike's friends.  From there, we rode bikes down to Sugarhouse Park to watch the fireworks. It has been a long time since I've been on a bike, and with the cars around, I was a little nervous.  But I made it there and back without any mishaps!

Then last night, we went to the Salt Lake Country Club to watch more fireworks.  It was a great way to celebrate our nation's independence!
