30 Day Challenge

I dare you to....

Try something new for 30 days.  The time will pass anyway.  Why not make it memorable?

I found this website, http://www.ted.com/, "IDEAS WORTH SPREADING."  Talk about great movivational speeches all in the same location!  This particular video stuck out to me as I am continually trying to do/learn/experience new things.  We've all heard that doing something 20 times creates a habit.  Well, who would have thought that doing something new 30 times will send you on a path of trying new things and challenging yourself for the rest of your life?  I didn't until I watched this video.  But now thinking back on the idea, I can, in fact, testify to it.  Last summer when I did my weekly "Something New" challenge, it put me on the path to doing new things for the rest of my life.  I've accomplished so many exciting things since then.  It helped me create a zest for life!

Now repeat with me...
I will take this challenge.  For the next 30 days I will... [insert challenge here].

As for my challenge? I will take a picture each day and post it here for you to see my progress.  I plan to find something meaningful, beautiful, or even a new type of photograph I've never done.  I've always said I wanted to be better at taking pictures.  I even went as far as buying a nicer camera (do I know how to use it well yet? No.)  Here's my chance!

What is your challenge?

I'll Try Anything Once

Today on ksl.com, I saw a new segment titled "I'll Try Anything Once."  So far, they've sung live on-air, paraglided, and did a high ropes course.  Here's a clip from their excursion paragliding.

Watching these segments got me thinking... maybe its time to resurrect my "Something New" challenges again.
However, I've got a lot on my plate for the summer so it can't be as often as it was last year, maybe only once a month.  And, I think I'll retitle it "Your IQ Demands It" in honor of my late Grandma (see my explantion to the right).

It makes life so much more exciting to do new things all the time!
Remember when I tried paragliding too? Oh, it was amazing!

What would you like to see me try this summer?

A Stretch for Something New

Wow, this week has been rough!  I've been super busy; and finding something big and new to do has been a little difficult.  I'm stretching some, but I do have new things in my life.  :)  You'll just have to deal with my lack of creativity this week.

Red Mango's new flavor - KEY LIME PIE
Super delicious!  I went with my roommates, Ashley and Sarah, to endulge in the new flavor for a spur-of-the-moment Girls Night.  Surprised by how much I like it.  It really tastes like the pie!

RED ROCK Brewing Co for dinner with Mike.  I'd never eaten there and it'd been since high school for him so it was the perfect choice!
I had the most delicous dinner.  Chinese Beef Salad.  It had beef tenderloins, which were perfectly cooked, topping a salad filled with water chestnuts, wontons, mandarine oranges, red and green pepers, and was tossed in a sesame seed dressing.  It was so good I didn't want to stop when I got full!  Can't wait to go back.

Movie night: THE A-TEAM.
Have you seen it?  It is a definite must-see!  Mike and I laughed so hard during the entire movie!  Who knew it was such a comedy?  The action was great too.  See the trailer below. (If you plan to see it on the big screen, go soon.  I think its almost out of the main theaters.)

So that was my week: 3 new things that were a stretch to classify as new.
But hey, when you get busy, sometimes you just gotta take what you can get!

Something New

What do I do every day?  I can't quite say.  Every Sunday night I think about how its gonna be an entire work week before I have freedom again, and then before I know it, it's Friday and I'm headed home.  But then because of my crazy busy life, before I know it, its again Sunday night and I'm heading into another work week.  Where did spring go????

Well, here's what I'm going to do to remedy the situation.  I'm gonna try, do, or learn something NEW every week and post about it! :)
So what will I do this week?

I'm going to learn the process of petitioning for a new law in Utah.  This idea came about after watching some lady drive the entire way between intersections in the TURN LANE probably because she had a dog on her lap and wasn't so aware.  How many times have you seen a dog on the driver's lap causing distractions.  And they say texting is bad...how about not being able to turn the wheel even if you know you need to???
