The Mormon Bachelorette

Today is Monday.  In my house, this means the roommies (+ boyfriends, haha!) get together for dinner and The Bachelor/The Bachelorette on ABC, which has its season premier last week.  I'm sure you've all heard of the show... one boy or girl is the 'one' and each week whittles away at the 25 candidates chosen by the producers.

Well last year, some girls decided they wanted to help their friend get married and created a web series spin off of the show, titling it The Mormon Bachelorette (aka TMB).  It took off well and the bachelorette ended up marrying her man!  So, they followed up the season with season 2 of TMB and now they're on season 3.  And who else would be the next bachelorette but my amazing friend Ashley!
It was just announced on the website today.

Ash and I have been friends since college when we worked together on BYU's Events Management Team.  She was the team lead and we became instant friends.  We still keep in touch even though she now lives in Arizona.

And now Ashely is going to be the star of TMB!  I'm so excited for her and hope it works out!  If you want to follow the web series, here is the link.  I know I'll be following it this season!

Love you, Ash!  Good luck!

I'll Try Anything Once

Today on ksl.com, I saw a new segment titled "I'll Try Anything Once."  So far, they've sung live on-air, paraglided, and did a high ropes course.  Here's a clip from their excursion paragliding.

Watching these segments got me thinking... maybe its time to resurrect my "Something New" challenges again.
However, I've got a lot on my plate for the summer so it can't be as often as it was last year, maybe only once a month.  And, I think I'll retitle it "Your IQ Demands It" in honor of my late Grandma (see my explantion to the right).

It makes life so much more exciting to do new things all the time!
Remember when I tried paragliding too? Oh, it was amazing!

What would you like to see me try this summer?

CONQUERED!

13.1 Miles
2 hours 36 minutes (unofficial time, of course)
And I never once stopped running!
I didn't train as well as I had hoped, but it was enough to get me through the race.  The Ogden Marathon is a very beautiful course and extremely well organized.  This is one I would definitely do again!

sprinting to the finish line
The Parkinson family was so hospitable letting me stay at their home last night.  They even made the trek to Ogden this morning to see me come in.

It was a beautiful day for running!

My brother-in-law, Doug, also ran the half...but much faster than me!

Easter

I know I'm behind here, but its probably time I get these pictures up!

It seems the older I get, the more Easter is for my nieces and nephews.

This year we took the party to my sister's house in Layton because my parents were out of the country visiting my brother and his family.  It was a great evening, minus one nut allergy reaction and a few sick kids.

I think we had over 80 eggs for the kids to find throughout the house.  They were such ambitious seekers!  Following the hunt, we had delicious dessert including the fresh whipped cream on the beaters!
I absolutely love my family!

Do you remember taking Ballet?

I've shared the following video on my Facebook page, but I know some of you aren't FB users.  So, this is for all of you who ever took a dance class as a child.  The simplicity of children always brings a smile to my face.
